In my sister’s shoes

🇩🇪

I love travelling and I already lived abroad for several months on two occasions. Saying goodbye wasn’t too hard on me. Obviously, because for me it meant the beginning of a new adventure; new country, new culture, new people.

Now has come the time and for the first time I am among the people who stay behind. My beloved sister decided to walk part of the Camino de Santiago, a famous pilgrimmage, and she’s on her way to Spain. I love the idea and it’s fascinating, but now I understand the worry of those left behind as well.

Never judge until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.

This native American proverb once again proves its wisdom. To reverse your perspective teaches you a lot and sometimes it may even open your eyes retrospectively. Will this keep my from travelling? Surely not. But I will be able to understand the feelings of my family way better.

And now I only hope that my sister will come through her adventure safe and sound and that I can hug her again soon.
Sister dear; I wish you a great time and fine weather from the bottom of my heart. May you find inspiring thoughts, meet interesting people and get to know yourself from the start.

Buen camino!
I love you.

XOXO

Sarah
