Mini Chocolate Pizza

My dears,

each year we’re having a Secret Santa and this year I was gifted with a tiny 6-inch pan made from cast iron and a fitted kit for chocolate pizza. Choco-whaaaat? 😨 Usually, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth – I prefer hearty or salty snacks – but this was amazing.

You need:
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp dry yeast
1.7 oz water (50 ml)
1 tbsp olive oil (or similar) 25 gr Nutella
1/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup mini marshmallows

Knead a yeast dough and let it rise for about 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 390°F / 200°C top and bottom heat. Spread a bit of oil in the cast iron pan and dab away the excess. Place the dough in the pan and spread it until it covers it from rim to rim. Now spread the nutella upon it, sprinkle it with chocolate chips and put the marshmallows on top. Lower the heat to 350°F / 175°C and bake the mini chocolate pizza for about 15 minutes. Taddaaaa!

We shared this tasty deliciousness between two of us and it is so savoury that it was more than enough. It is best served hot, straight from the oven.

Variations:
As always you can go crazy and try new thing and of course you can turn the recipe into a ’normal‘ pizza with no effort at all. I tried it and I have to admit that for traditional pizza I prefer a thin base instead of the thick one for the cocolate variation. You can easily divide the dough and roll out two thin pizzas with the same ingredients as listed above. Just do what you like best.

Attention! Pan maintenance:
Cast iron pans (or other cast iron products) may NOT be put in the dishwasher NEITHER should you let them soak in any kind of liquid. They ruste easily and are ruined. Before first use simply give them a quick rinse with soapy water and dry them well, then you are good to go :)

XOXO
Sarah
